Safety Workwear Specially Made For Women

Why Women Should Have Workwear Fitted For Them

Flame resistant clothing has traditionally been designed in two ways – for men or for unisex. Elliotts however, has a range of sizing to suit women who are entering this “man’s world” with FR clothing specifically designed for women’s bodies.

But why is it so important to have clothing specifically designed for women’s bodies? Because ill-fitting clothing can be a tripping hazard, is more likely to get caught in machinery, and uncomfortable fits can cause distraction.

Considerations When Choosing Women’s Safety Clothing

Here are a few things you should look for when choosing women’s safety clothing:

  • Coveralls should be fitted for women’s hip and waist sizes so the excess fabric does not get caught on equipment handles or machinery.
  • Select a shirt that has adjustable cuffs. Women’s wrist sizes can vary, so an adjustable cuff can help keep shirtsleeves from riding up.
  • Shirtsleeves should be short enough that they do not need to be rolled or cuffed.
  • Shirttails should be long enough that they can be tucked into pants, but short enough to eliminate bunching.
