Name: Michael Greenup

Job Title: Queensland Regional Manager

Your role: My main role is to collaborate closely with our distributors across Queensland and provide training and support where and when ever needed. Networking with people within our supply chain is something that I really enjoy and so I regularly conduct trials on our products and engage directly with end users working with them to find the right product and if required connect them with the right distributor as their preferred safety supplier.

How long have you been working with Elliotts for? 11 months

How long have you been in the Safety/Manufacturing Industry for? 7 years working in the safety industry, with 2 of those years being on the manufacturing side. So, I’ve seen the industry from many angles and I think this is what helps me assist our QLD distributors more effectively.

What’s the best aspect of your job? I absolutely enjoy the diversity of my role the most.  I’m always meeting an assortment of different people from all over Queensland with various safety requirements.  I love being active and social and so, I am never in the office for too long as I’m always on the road meeting with my customer.

What do you do when you’re not working?  The Spring/Summer is mainly spent at the beach as my children are into Surf Life Saving – it a great activity to be involved in.  Whilst Autumn/Winter is more watching the kids play footy. I also enjoy playing a regular game of poker to really chill out.

What’s your favourite Elliotts Product? I have a stand out product line that I can never speak more highly of – as opposed to a singular product.  Our range of Wildland firefighting apparel takes into consideration our hot summer temperatures combined with the obvious need for extreme heat protection and for that reason it’s my stand out product line.    These garments are not only protective, light and comfortable, but also help manage the wearer’s metabolic temperature.  This is achieved through letting the wearer’s body’s heat escape through the fabric and superior moisture management – meaning that our fighter fighters can concentrate on the job at hand. The range is also independently certified by SAI Global to AS/NZS 4824 which is an added bonus in my book!
