Midland adds three cases Saturday

Midland County recorded three new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, according to the state’s daily report. 

Midland County: three cases were added. Pandemic total is 6,822 cases, 719 probable, 88 deaths and three probable deaths.

Bay County: four cases and two deaths were added; pandemic total stands at 10,551 cases, 677 probable, 334 deaths and 14 probable deaths.

Gladwin County: no cases were added; pandemic total stands at 1,913 cases, 386 probable, 55 deaths and four probable deaths.

Isabella County: one case and one death were added; pandemic total stands at 5,378 cases, 937 probable, 93 deaths and five probable deaths.

Saginaw County: 16 cases were added; pandemic total stands at 19,943 cases, 1,363 probable, 590 deaths and 19 probable deaths.

The state added 388 cases and 72 deaths on Saturday; the day’s death count included 66 deaths identified during a vital records review. Overall, Michigan is at 890,345 cases and 19,365 deaths.


According to the Midland County Health Department website, which was updated on June 1, 6,763 individuals have recovered from COVID-19. Gladwin County reported on Thursday that it has a total of 1,695 recovered cases. The state reported that as of June 5, a total of 837,864 persons have recovered.


Midland County’s seven-day rolling positivity rate on June 2 was listed at 2.5% and Gladwin County was listed at 0.8%. Our 12-county region is listed at 4.5% and Michigan is at 3.6%.

MidMichigan Health statistics

As of Thursday, June 3, MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland was listed as having an 79% bed occupancy with four COVID patients and one in the ICU. MidMichigan Medical Center in Gladwin was listed as having an 37% bed occupancy with one COVID patient, and none in the ICU.

Regarding PPE supplies, the Midland hospital reported 15-30 days for N95 masks; 15-30 days for surgical masks; 30-plus days for surgical gowns; 15-30 days for exam gloves and 30-plus days for eye protection as of Thursday, June 3. The Gladwin hospital reported 30-plus days for all of the above supplies.

Midland County vaccination distribution

As of Tuesday, June 1, the Midland County COVID-19 Dashboard reported 12,396 first doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines have been administered as well as 11,712 second doses. To date, 265 single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines have been administered.
