Midland County adds 37 COVID cases Sunday-Monday


Midland County recorded 37 new COVID-19 cases between Sunday and Monday, according to the state’s daily report.

• Midland County: 37 cases were added. Pandemic total is 6,421 cases, 701 probable, 75 deaths and three probable deaths.

• Bay County: 67 cases and one death were added; pandemic total stands at 10,021 cases, 624 probable, 311 deaths and 13 probable deaths.

• Gladwin County: eight cases were added; pandemic total stands at 1,829 cases, 366 probable, 47 deaths and three probable deaths.

• Isabella County: 33 cases were added; pandemic total stands at 5,071 cases, 835 probable, 83 deaths and two probable deaths.



• Saginaw County: 100 cases were added; pandemic total stands at 18,755 cases, 1,210 probable, 553 deaths and 15 probable deaths.


Between Sunday and Monday, the state added 5,035 new cases and 29 deaths. Overall, Michigan is at 849,420 cases and 17,771 deaths.

Testing

The state report shows as of Wednesday, Midland County has performed 72,095 COVID-19 tests. Gladwin County is listed as having administered 20,729 tests.

Midland County’s seven-day rolling positivity rate on April 26 was listed at 13.6% and Gladwin County was listed at 12.2%. Our 12-county region is listed at 16.4% and Michigan is at 13.2%.

MidMichigan Health statistics

As of Thursday, MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland was listed as having an 92% bed occupancy with 40 COVID-19 patients and 12 in the ICU. MidMichigan Medical Center in Gladwin was listed as having an 39% bed occupancy with three COVID-19 patients and none in the ICU.

Regarding PPE supplies, the Midland hospital reported 15-30 days for N95 masks; 15-30 days for surgical masks; 30-plus days for surgical gowns; 15-30 days for exam gloves and 30-plus days for eye protection as of Thursday. The Gladwin hospital reported 30-plus days for all of the above supplies.
