Massachusetts is adjusting the COVID-19 vaccination process by focusing efforts at smaller scale clinics in order to reach the goal of having 4 million people in the state fully vaccinated. Gov. Charlie Baker said the will pivot COVID-19 vaccination efforts to reach particular communities and populations and will ramp down operations at the state’s mass vaccination clinics. In December, the state set a goal to vaccinate at least 4.1 million people through a series of phases, starting with health care workers and the most vulnerable populations.Baker said the state should reach that goal in the next few weeks. Four of the seven mass vaccination sites will close by the end of June, but appointments are still available now at all sites.
